Type B FIBC Bags
Type B FIBC Bags are flexible intermediate bulk containers made from polypropylene woven fabric with a low breakdown voltage, designed to reduce the risk of highly energetic electrostatic discharges during the handling of dry bulk materials. While they do not fully eliminate static electricity, they provide a higher level of safety compared to standard Type A bags.
The key feature of Type B bags is their ability to prevent propagating brush discharges, which are capable of igniting certain types of dust clouds. This makes them suitable for handling fine powders where limited electrostatic control is required. However, they do not dissipate static electricity like conductive or anti-static bags, and therefore must not be used in environments with flammable gases or solvent vapors.
Type B FIBC bags are widely used in industries such as chemicals, minerals, and food processing, where bulk powders need to be handled with improved safety. They are ideal for applications where the risk of dust ignition exists, but full conductive grounding systems are not necessary.
